The Safer Internet Academy, organised for the fourth year in succession, began its tour around Lithuania on Tuesday. Lecturers, who will be presenting lectures in twelve towns, will invite school pupils to pay attention to the dangers and threats of virtual life, and will teach how to avoid them with the help of their parents and grandparents.
The Centre of Information Technologies of Education under the Ministry of Education and Science, the Communications Regulatory Authority and TEO LT, AB will launch the project on Tuesday, on the Safer Internet Day, which is promoted in sixty five countries of the world. This year’s theme of the Day, celebrated all over Europe, is "Connecting Generations – Discover the digital world together…safely!"
It is anticipated that about 180 lectures to be organised by May 25 will be attended by approximately 4.5 thousand school pupils who will be awarded special graduation diplomas of the Safer Internet Academy.
The Safer Internet Academy is organised since 2009 and has already visited 23 towns of the country, with about 6 thousand school pupils and their parents attending the lectures.
